So, I have chopped and changed phones a few times in the past month and done the same each time (set up as new and signed into iCloud) but the latest time has result in a loss of around 200 passwords. I had just over 300 and now just under 100. However on the exact same iCloud account on my iPad they are all there, all 300 or so.

Any idea what has happened and how to fix?

The same sort of thing happened to me. Non of my safari bookmarks would sync and several of my contacts in my contacts list didn't copy over. Pretty much a fail

OP, is your iCloud Keychain still switched to on on all of your devices? That might be what you have to check if that feature worked before.

i would suggest you can also try 1password app for passwords saving purpose. It is the best app for both IOS and android users on both phones and laptops.

its free for one month, and all you have to do is pay 4 USD per month. i wish it were free but features it provides to you are priceless.

Glad they are back for you.

In less than a month I went from the Xs max to the Xr back to the Xs max and then upgraded to the 11 pro max. Luckily for me all my passwords in iCloud Keychain were intact each time. I have over 200 passwords stored in iCloud Keychain so I’d have been semi screwed. Semi because I still had both of my iPads signed into the same iCloud account so I could have retrieved them from there but still.

Crisis averted for you 😀
