I am running OS 10.2.8 on a titanium 15" Powerbook, approx. 2 years old. I frequently send largish graphic files as attachments using Mail. Two days ago, the sent items, listing as around 2,800 items, disappeared. Now when I send a message, the sent items folder is empty. I have read that it is a result of not sorting out the items, and it has bloated, and a solution is to upgrade to 10.3 (10.4?) The items are apparently not lost, just not showing.

How can I restore/retrieve them within 10.2.8? I am just about to get Tiger - will this sort it out, saving me a fiddle in 10.2.8?

It is amazing how much I needed to refer to sent items, such as remembering quote prices for work, tracking job activity and delivered work etc etc. Now they are missing, I am totally lost.

Can anyone help?

P.S. Is upgrading to Tiger an easy thing to do, and how long should I allow? I don't want to screw up a relatively smoothly running system when I need to use the machine for work.

Thanks,

Andy G
