So I can't seem to find the startup disc that came with my mac and was thinking about getting it replaced, but then I thought I might as well just upgrade to Lion. However, you can only download Lion from the app store, therefore I wouldn't get a new OS disc. Is that true? If I were to go to an apple store I would be able to purchase Lion and receive the disc?

Sorry if this is dumb, lol.

Lion is not distributed on disk;it's download only. You can buy a Lion USB key for $70 or so.

You can't download Lion unless you're running latest snow leopard.

The Apple store does not have Lion disks; there are no lion disks sold.

If you buy a new machine, there's a recovery partition.

Contact apple, they will replace your install disks, at worst for a few bucks
