For some third-party apps like Overcast and Feedbin, I do not get any haptic feedback along with notifications. The red dot appears and the notification is available, but there is no way to be instantly alerted for those apps. All other apps work as expected, whether they be Apple's built-in apps like Messages and Reminders or third party like Google Hangouts.

I am running iOS 10.1.1 on an iPhone SE and watchOS 3.1. This issue began with the upgrade from watchOS 2 to watchOS 3. Then after the watchOS 3 upgrade I upgraded my phone, so I have therefore tried a restore of the watch.

In the watch settings, Overcast and Feedbin are set to Mirror iPhone Notifications. In iPhone settings, all notification options are set to ON for those apps. I have read that turning off the "sound" option in iPhone notification settings could have the effect I'm seeing, but it is turned ON for Feedbin and is missing for Overcast.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

The fix seems to be for the developer to update their app. It does seem to be directly related to whether the sound option is present in iphone notification settings. This seems designed so that a developer can choose not to annoy a user with an interruption for low priority things (e.g., new podcast episodes). My fix was to use IFTTT rather than Feedbin.
