Missing Numbers Files after Mavericks Update

I updated my iMac to Mavericks on 11/1/13. I also update the iWork apps to the most recent version. Since then I am finding that multiple Numbers files (I haven't looked for other iWork files) are missing. I know I worked on them and saved them but they are gone, nowhere to be found. I have also opened up Time Machine but the files are not there either. When I updated to Mavericks I used the same AppleID, username and password and this is is an Admin account so I'd expect to see all the files.

Any help is greatly appreciated and apologies if this belongs in the Mac Apps section.
