Missing safari and youtube icons

I have a 3G that is missing the Safari icon and youtube. When I search for it, it finds it but there is no actual icon that shows up unless I do a search. I have checked my setting and there are no restrictions set.

Is there anything I can do besides restoring?

Is the phone jailbroken? If it is, then maybe the icons were hidden using 'poof' (I think thats wat it was called, not sure, dont laugh ). Otherwise, open SBSettings, hit 'more', then look under 'hide icons' to see of the icons were 'OFF'

I don't see Poof...would I if I had it?

I will try the other thing you mentioned.

ETA : Yes it is JB/Unlocked.

Poof is in both, SBSettings and in Boss Settings. Any of those applications installed on your phone? It doent have its own icon, its inside those applications

You rock!! I have had this problem since February and people were telling me to SSH into my phone and add all kinds of things.

I went into BossPref and there was Poof! Both icons were hidden and now are back.

LOL! BossPref! Forgot the name, haven't used it since SB came out. And you are welcome
