I just noticed that the App Store on my iPhone has a "Search" button while the App Store on my iPad has no "Search" button.

Is this supposed to be like that? What could be an intelligent reason for that?

I know that I can search on the iPad after tapping one of the other buttons. Still, I find it weird that there is a "Search" button on one iOS device while it is missing on another.

iPad just left out a step by allowing you, from any screen, to type in the Search box located in the upper right corner. I do it from the Updates page. You don't need a Search button.

There isn't a search button, but there is a search bar that is located at the top right hand corner.
