I was just somewhere with public WiFi and instead of giving me a password, they said to select a certain network and a page would appear that would allow me to sign in. The page never appeared. Instead, on WiFi in settings, the selected network first said “unsecured network” and after a bit it said in amber letters “no internet connection.” Is there any way to get past this problem? I’ve experienced it before today but only thought to post about it today.

Sounds like a poorly configured or overloaded connection. I frequently run into similar issues & just use my phone’s hotspot instead.

It's a captive network. You could try messing with the Auto-Join and Auto-Login settings to see if the screen shows up then.

Other things to try:
  • Try going to a random site in Safari to see if the login page shows.
  • Temporarily turn off iCloud Private Relay if you have it on.
