When I click on Get Info about my Macintosh HD, it says there is 23GB of used space. But when I check all folders on that harddrive, they only take 19GB. Anyone know where remaining used 4GB are?

There are plenty of files/folders that are hidden from the Finder.

Use an application such as OmniDiskSweeper to see where everything is.

Thanks.

Though, those hidden files are necessary, aren't they? If I can't delete them, I don't mind whether they are there.
Just wanted to know what happened with my free space. :)

In most cases, yes, they are hidden for a reason.

But OmniDiskSweeper will show you how big everything is, and where it is. It won't delete anything automagically.
