ny somewhere
i had to replace my hard drive last week. am back in business with a new drive. my notes are syncing in the cloud (i see them on my computer, and my iphone).

but i had a whole set of notes ONLY on my mac, and they're not there... the whole 'on my mac' section is gone from the notes app.

i found the files (in containers, ie "notes v2.storedata" etc. how can i access these? or get them into the notes app WITHOUT wiping the icloud notes? u:(

LOL, worked it out.

if this helps anyone:
i quit Notes. then i moved the 3 "NotesV3.storedata" files to a folder on the desktop. turned off wifi. copied the 3 ORIGINAL "NotesV3.storedata" from my backup to the ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.Notes/Data/Library/Notes folder. opened Notes...and there was "on my mac"...AND my notes.

made a folder in the icloud settings (ie "mac notes"). highlighted ALL the notes from my mac, and moved them to that folder.

then quit Notes, turned wifi back on. reopened notes...and am back in business.

WHEW.
