Mission Control and behavior of multi-windows apps

Lets say I've two spaces. Using Mission Control on Space 1 I move for instance my Safari window to space 2. Then I on Space 1 click the Safari icon. Then OS X shifts to Space 2.

Instead of moving to Space 2 it would be nice for me, if a new window of Safari just opens on Space 1. Is it possible in some way? It is not only Safari but multiple-window apps in general.
