Not sure if this has already been said, so sorry if it has.

If in your dock options you untick to Minimize windows into application icon, then when you go to mission control it always brings up your dock, the minimized windows will just be on the right of the dock.
 
Thanks for the tip but I don't think most users are concerned with getting to the actual minimized window, it's more of being able to see which window it is through the preview. Although you'll be able to get to the minimized window, you'll have to hover over each one to see which window you want to maximize.

Its not perfect but it still gives you the application icon and although small a thumbnail of the window.

I still prefer the old exposè though
 
forgive me if anyone else has posted the following already, the amount of stuff on this forum is absurd.

anyway, the minimised window issue arises again.

hover over the dock, if hidden, to bring up the apps you've got running. app expose on the icon of the app with the minimised window to show minimised windows. not a complete solution as in SL but better than the suggestion the OP posted in my view.

just my 2 cents.
