Everyone seems to see Mission Control as a replacement for Exposé, and in my opinion that is not entirely true. If you try to see it as a replacement, an alternative for Command-Tab, your App Switcher. The exposé itself is simply gone, with no replacement available.
If you use the keyboard a lot, Command-Tab is awesome to switch fast between apps.
But since the multitouch trackpad days in Snow Leopard, you could bind a certain swipe (4 finger left/right? Not sure) to get there instead of Command-Tabbing, then select the app you want to use with a single click. Only, that feels "off" somehow compared to the keyboard Command-Tab-Tab-Tab-release Command application switch.
With Mission Control, you see the windows of your applications grouped together, which is one of the complaints of Mission Control by certain people. But with the App Switcher, you don't see windows at all. You only see Application icons.
Furthermore, the hitbox of applications is suddenly a lot bigger, as you can click on an entire group of windows instead of a single application icon. This is important if you use a cursor-based selection instead of a keyboard shortcut.
Lastly, there is still Windows Exposé for selecting the right window within an application; and that is the same as in Snow Leopard (with maybe minor visual differences, like your desktop icons at the background fading away in Windows Exposé).
Just wanted to share my opinion on this matter.
