Try to resist the urge to click the update/restore button if you value your jailbreak or unlock.

You can still downgrade. Did you save any of your SSH Blobs for 4.3.3, 4.3.2, 4.3.1, 4.3 or 4.2.1 ?
Unless your an iPad 2 3G User then you're screwed.

lol, hackthatphone is being sarcastic to all the threads usually started by people right after a new iOS update has been released

Like "I upgraded to 4.3.4 and went to jailbreakme.com but Cydia wont install. HELP!"

Downgrading does diddly if you are unlocked. I was being sarcastic by starting this.

How do you know when you're safe to update the firmware? Or is it never okay to update if you jailbroke?

There is no reason to update. open Cydia installl PDF Patch 2 it does the exact same thing. Of course K=Jailbreakme won't work after it's installed. th PDF hole that was exposed by Comex is the only reason for this firmware. anybody that reports any improvements IE battery life IOS speed etc are smoking crack.

Very carefully checks "never ask me again" and "cancel".

Heck even if you accidentally push the wrong button you still have a long time till the thing downloads and you can unplug the phone.

In other news my SHSH list for my ipad is huge now.

I would hope that someone who's been able to stay on 01.59.00 upto this point will know not to update... then again, people's stupidity never ceases to amaze me.
Some people have 1.59 because they never upgraded or because they bought a phone with 1.59. Of course, the latter will post the "I bought an unlocked phone and now it's bricked after I erased everything on the phone!"

Why exactly would you even go close to this update if you have a jailbroken phone? WHY?
People are lazy and dumb? There was a user who posted with an unlocked bb and wanted to know how to upgrade. S/he didn't listen to advice given and upgraded through iTunes. This was all because the user couldn't be bothered to read the tutorial on using pwnage/snowbreeze.
What's the point of asking how to preserve bb if you're not going to follow it?
