iOS mkfifo() in iPhoneOS, and OSX

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone has successfuly created a fifo in /dev on an iPhone or mac?

-> mkfifo /dev/myfifo returns Error: Invalid argument...

is there something im missing?
