Hello

Just updated Mavericks to 10.9.5 and all my .mkv files now have blank icon, used to have preview icon, or VLC

Cant change it, i tried changing the default player, but no change ?

How can i fix it ?

Did you try 'Command + J'

Did you try 'Command + J' and then select 'Show Icon Preview' ..??

If not that, then I suspect it may be a 'sometime soon someone will change the settings' and things will show up.. Perhaps.. :D
 
Try a Get Info on an mkv file, then Open With, change it to VLC and click Change All - that will probably reset them to the vlc icon...
