There's some anecdotal evidence emerging that upgrading to ML is resulting in an automatic recalibration of some LCD panels.

This seems to be particularly noticeable in LG panel-equipped MacBook Airs, about which many have complained in the past. Out of the box running Lion these have appeared washed-out compared to Samsung panel-equipped examples, requiring a manual calibration (there are several Colorsync profiles being circulated to address this).

Upon upgrading to ML, the default calibration is strikingly superior, suggesting that something is going on under the hood here.

What do you reckon?

Just judging by the dates on the color profile files on my ML system, they do appear to be updated with Mountain Lion.
