I have updated my 2010 15" MBP to mountain lion three days ago. The startup times are very good, possibly a second or two quicker then on 10.7.4. However the shut down times are enormous. It takes 40 seconds. it shows the spinning wheel thing the whole time. With Lion or SL it takes 4-8 seconds to shut down. Ocassionally it took long with lion, what i did to make it fast again was to run a little cleaning with onyx empty the trash and stuff like that. However none of this has helped under mountain lion. Ive repaired permissions aswell. Still takes ages
I have a samsung 430 series 256GB installed. I did a clean install of ML by making a dvd. erased the partition, installed ML and then migrated everything over in the set up screen from a time machine backup.
Is anybody else experiencing long shut down times? Or does somebkdy know how to cure this?
