I just complained about this yesterday that MLB was a launch partner but nothing in the AppStore about the app being supported. Good to see that this will be here for the upcoming season!

Can somebody technically savvy explain me why don't they place a couple of 8k 180 VR cameras on front row seats or on the field, and also offer users the possibility to watch the game from what it would be something like a seat at the stadium or next to the coach?

I don't get it, as from what i've read of the various 3d experiences which were demoed this would be a true, sizeable enough very first killer app of the device (obviously once they manage to get many sports in) that could make it sell in the millions.

A 4k "revolutionary" TV to experience the sports i watch in literally another dimension? I'll do anything i can in order to buy it.

I think that will happen.

Here's hoping there's a major announcement at the Super Bowl about the NFL on Vision Pro :)
NFL isn’t a big supporter of new Apple technology the way MLB has been and NBA to a lesser extent. MLB (and I think NBA) have the right to at least out of market games, where NFL sells it to YouTube TV, so there isn’t as large of an audience for their app. They also have never seemed to be interested in making a “world class app”. It would be great if they made one though.

They can and it probably will. They were not thinking about that last season since the AVP wasn’t out. In the MLB press release it did say they will have an update to the app on opening day, so it’s quite possible they are setting up so at least some games will be in this format.

Well then, since I'm an International viewer of the NFL, here's hoping DAZN develops an amazing app for my NFL games :)

Believe me or not, i'll have a meeting within a couple of months with someone on the board, who is an acquaintance, and will absolutely kind of pitch him the thing.
I do think on top of Apple probably willing to contribute to any Capex, i truly believe they could A) Make people want the device (=Apple's happy), B) Have people with the device, who are "rich", pay an extra for the game in spatial video (=Dazn is happy and Apple gets its cut).

And the way i see it all it takes is literally something like 1 to 3 more cameras per game. They don't need to be moved or "operated".

I can't imagine a scenario in which both Apple and the Sports Streamer don't make more money out of it.

There is nothing technical preventing this from being done. We were live broadcasting 4K 360 degree video in 2016.

Definitely bring it up. And why stop at sports? Seems like there are almost limitless opportunities for spatial immersive video content, and it would be a big draw. I’m sure Apple is aware of this, and we’ll see more content offered through TV+.

There may be something planned.

Usher just released his new music video this week and guess how it was shot…
