I am a huge Yankees fan, and as I live in Texas/Oklahoma, I'm forced to spend $120 a year on MLB.tv to watch Yankees games on my Mac.

However, I have to download Flip4Mac in order to watch the games streaming live. Think there's a chance an app could come out that would allow me to watch the games on the go (likely WiFi only)?

So as of now, there is no way to watch baseball on the iPhone?

Dbacks fan in Cali here

No...
That was the point in my creating this thread...
To try and see if anyone had any knowledge of something in the works or the software that would be behind it.

It works fine for Mets fans.

:D

... but seriously, that would be very sweet if it would work. This year they're working heavily with Microsoft Silverlight so who knows how that could be adapted for the iPhone since there is already an OSX version that works in Safari.

Yeah, I noticed I had to download those new plug-ins.
I prefer to just watch in Mosaic though.

You're missing the point...

GO METS! :D

ahem... /hijack

Actually, resuming my hijack for a moment: this year I wasn't able to pick up the satellite MLB package so I grabbed the MLB.TV and I've enjoyed it so far (although all three Mets games have been blacked out for me so far... stupid 250 miles away Marlins). Is the MLB.TV prime (or whatever) worth the extra $30?

It was rumored some time ago that the SlingBox would be supporting the iPhone and iTouch sometime soon. If it does happen, I would imagine that you'll only be allowed to conect over WiFi though.

I personally don't see much difference between 800k and 1.2M

Ya, problem is without the premium package you can't get video higher than 400k. I just trying to decide if I should pay the difference to upgrade... if that is even an option.

I can't wait for slingbox.. I'm watchin the phillies game right now on my mac -- waiting for someone to pick me up... If i could watch this on an iPhone, it would be killer!

Is there a program that lets you control your Mac (PC ?) remotely? That way you we could use that to watch it as it's running on the desktop.

I would upgrade to at least 800k. It's a matter of opinion, but I'd rather pay a little more - nothing annoys me more than pixelated videos.

The difference between the 800 KB and the 1.2 MB does seem very small, but the 800 does clearly seem to be twice the quality of the 400.

Anyway, I always seem to be able to get the best quality videos out of the Mosaic, rather than the embedded videos on MLB.tv.
