Can someone else test this out -- this is entirely reproducible on my end.

If I send an email from Gmail (web interface) to my MM account and Mail.app is hidden (closed the mail window with the red X) the new email will NOT get pushed.

However, if Mail.app is not hidden (just a background app) it WILL get notifications of new email pushed from The Cloud instantly...this seems really stupid to me.

I like to run my Mail.app with the application hidden and just look at the dock icon badge to know when I have new messages. I left Mail.app hidden overnight (and fetch set to manual) and 10 new emails that came in overnight were not pushed to Mail.app in 9 hours simply because my Mail.app window was hidden.
