I wouldn't hold my breath, AT&T and Apple surprisingly never knows what the other companies up to or doing half the time.

The Article

If you say this ...

Then why ask this?

For the love of God.

Because the article I linked, if you read it, states that to fix the vulnerability they will patch by the end of the month. If this was the main focus of 3.1 with the other listed fixes, why would they unlock mms once again in the beta?

Well it looks like 3.1 should be out by the end of the month. Does this also mean mms will work as well since it is in the beta or will it be removed before the update. I know, noone knows but I sure hope this means we will see it soon.

Your post makes no sense. You state something w/o any basis, and then post a link that has nothing to do with your post.

Actually it does, the beta includes mms, and the release of that patch will be out by the end of the month. That should add up to mms working at the release right?

First, I don't know why you think the patch will be out by the end of the month. Beta testing takes as it long it takes, there's no telling how long it will be.

Second, MMS is already available by OS 3.0. It's just that AT&T chose to not give the carrier file update we need for whatever reason. Just because 3.1 comes out does not mean we in the U.S. will have MMS.

And, End of July would be considered mid summer. Timing fits.

because it's an international beta and MMS is working in other countries. Why would they make a different beta for every single carrier.

I think it's a valid question to ask, but my theory is they could release 3.1 but AT&T could still have it switched off on their end until the network is truly ready. I'm not sure a month is enough time for them to complete their 850mHz overlays in the big cities. In fact, last I heard they hadn't even STARTED the overlay in SF (or at least they hadn't turned anything on yet). NY and LA are much farther along, but still not done.

I suspect it will be very late summer before they flip the switch.

...unless they try to repair their image by doing it earlier. But, you are probably right about it being late summer, and late summer may still be optimistic.

Seriously? Another thread about mms? You couldn't just post this in the threads that already covers this topic? Not to mention there's probably at least 7 threads on the FIRST PAGE!

No one knows when mms is coming. Late summer. That's all we know for sure. Here's a mission, if you choose to accept. Figure out what is considered late summer. I want to see a million threads on this now.

Corrected

late summer for MMS, and AT&T has not committed to any date/time-frame for tethering
Ahh thanks I stand corrected. I thought I had read somewhere that the changed it to mid-summer, but it was probably just on another site not from att.

From Apple's iPhone site:

Send messages with text, video, photos, audio, locations, and contact information. You can even forward one or more messages to others.
MMS support from AT&T coming in late summer.

Late Summer is going to be August.
