Great to have proper MMS on the iPhone at last. It's not something I use much but when I receive a picture message it's nice not to have fiddle with third-party software.

In typical Apple fashion, MMS works really well - it's great to be able to tap an image to see it full screen. Love it! :)

Did mms automatically work when you got your iPhone 3gs?
Or did you have to call in at&t to get it turned on?

God AT&T is horrible they need to get with the ball and join this cell century. Bad enough there are no 3G towers up around my neck of the woods yet they can't even roll out MMS for release day.

Ma Bell got the ill communication.

Not realised it was a problem. Surely they have MMS for other phones?

yes a lot better than other phones ive used. i can actually see the image full screen and zoom in. on other phones the images were always so small.

When I got my 3gs at att this morning they said prob. by late july?
But I've read others say they just called att and asked them to remove the block of mms on account ant that worked. Who knows? Lame though!

I've gotta admit even as one of those people who would jump to the iPhone's defense about it not having MMS, (by saying MMS is old school, poor quality and emailing pictures is better) it IS quite nice having it now :D Though I'm not sure if I'll have much use for it over time.

Mine is on o2, and it took a good 12 hours after upgrading my iPhone 3G to 3.0 before MMS was automatically enabled, but I did get a text from them saying they were experiencing a backlog.

They don't know in the stores.

at&t is NOT removing the MMS opt out now when people request it.

i noticed there was no camera in the lower left hand corner for mms..

now i know att is not ready for mms...but does that mean the iphone is not ready either...

will it me a software update later ?

just curious and wanna make the phone is ok..

Thanks

I've got MMS set up (Softbank in Japan) and changed the account address from the default, but I hardly understand why MMS is a big deal (I'm a wannabe tech freak).

What are the advantages of MMS?

advantages being that almost every other cell phone out there offers MMS and has the capabilities.

makes it easier on the other person so they dont have to keep replying to an email address ( i know for some phones it was not possible to send an MMS to an E-mail address so..)

sure you can't save it but for more computability i don't see why the phone didn't come with it day 1

The iphone is definitely ready. I tried messing with the carrier settings as specified in some threads and got the little camera, i was even able to start sending a picture in a MMS but it stops at about 95% and i get the little red exclamation mark. So the iphone is definitely capable......... Now if only AT&T would get their Sh*t together!!! I mean i'm sure they knew months and months ago that 3.0 would be equipped with MMS what the hell were they doing that whole time? how hard could it be? this is a super old technology that works on all their other phones. I dont get it.

oh ok...

i just figured the phone would allow you to attempt to send the pic but the stop cause the carrier obviously cant DEAL with it yet.

I wonder when my little camera in the left of the screen show up tell me that i can send pics?
