MMS pic vs contact & voice notes

I have no idea what happened, but i can no longer receive picture mms, only contact and voice memos.

the text comes thru with pics, but no pic. and when i try to send, it just seems to hang forever.

i'm on 3.1.3, 3gs. freshly restored, too.

any ideas?
