MMS/Pictures message coming in as group texts?

Whenever someone sends me a picture/MMS the message comes in as a separate group text that shows 2 people in the "group text", my actual phone number and the number of the sender. I'm beginning to notice this only happens with non-iPhone users i'm communicating with.

Any other iOS users have this happen?
