MMS settings fro iPhone 3GS

My phone is jail-broken and unlocked. I have tried a few suggestions that I have seen online downloading packages from cydia. But I only have an option for 'Cellular Data' on/off. There is no option 'Cellular Data Network' for me to enter an APN details, etc which they all require. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Phone: iPhone 3GS
Firmare: iOS 4.1
Modem Firmware: 06.15.00

I have read that installing "tetherme" will open the APN settings so they can be changed (I have never tried this)
Then Google for the correct APN settings for your carrier
