mobil me removal

Please help...
I cannot get rid of mobil me !! whenever I try to view my iphone it prompts me for a mobil me account?? my mac desktop does not.
I am running OS X 10.6.8
Please help!

Mobile Me is the service that pre-dated iCloud.
