Why do some sites direct you to a mobile version, when browsing on the ipad2?

Examples include : banks, YouTube m.YouTube.com, and gmail m.google.com

while others don't have mobile versions look perfectly fine, particually on the iPad with more screen real estate than than the IPhone. Even some banks look fine. While others direct you to their mobile versions , but only for the IPhone, or similar devices

It's a pain sometimes, like Gmail on the iPad or YouTube, and it "for es" you to a mobile version, when it clearly can be ok. It's too limited.

Just use a Third-party-App for browsing, like icab or mercury browser. You can fake your os in settings, so you always see the desktop versions of Youtube or all other websites.

The problem is, that the iPad or iOS is noticed as a mobile phone and not As a computer...

It just happens cause it's a mobile device :D
there is some extension that you may add to the web address that prevents redirection to mobile sites, you can Google this
