iOS 8.4.1

I use DataMan Next to monitor my mobile data usage, and because I had recently noticed a significant unexplained drain (2GBs or thereabouts that I can't account for), I decided to start resetting iOS's built-in mobile data usage tracker, under Settings > Mobile, at the beginning of my billing cycles.

In only a few days of very light use, a discrepancy of over 80MB has built up between DataMan's recorded usage, and iOS's: DataMan claims ~100MB used, whilst iOS claims ~24MB used.

I've checked and double-checked, and DataMan Next is definitely showing that figure for Mobile Data usage alone. Similarly, I've checked and double-checked and iOS is definitely quoting that usage figure including third-party apps and system services (including Personal Hotspot, which I haven't used within the period covered anyway). And, as I'm on iOS 8, I can't assign blame to Wi-Fi Assist.

So, I'm a little stumped. How do I account for this discrepancy? My initial inclination is that iOS may not be monitoring and reporting some aspect of usage that DataMan is. However, I'm confident that iOS is accurately reporting my intentional and acknowledged light usage consisting of browsing the web and checking my mail.

So, where is that extra data being consumed? Could it be the source of the mysterious vanishing 2GB last month?
