I'm bringing my iPhone 3GS when I go on holiday to North Cyprus in a few weeks. I know the roaming rates on O2 are ludicrous (£6/MB ) but I will be using Opera Mini to check MR and Engadget a bit, as well as hopefully use the very basic Gmail web client. Since Opera Mini can reduce whole webpages to under 20kb, I should be able to cope with it for the two weeks on just over £10 credit, right?

The big problem is this - according to the O2 site, North Cyprus dosen't even have a GPRS network at all.

Can anyone who's been tell me if they do have GPRS? And, if not, I guess hoping for any sort of WiFi access is above the realm of possibility?

Thanks in advance.
