If I get a family pack of mobile me does that mean after a year I can use the activation key to renew my account rather than buying it again for another $99?

What are you asking? You get one activation key for an expanded account.

Mobile Me family packs are $150 per year. Regular Mobile Me is $99 per year. You can purchase them online cheaper. I'm not sure what you are asking, but you will have to pay to renew for every year that you want to use the service. You can renew straight through Apple or you can buy activation keys through other sources (like Amazon) and save some money.
