Mobile Sync? Bloated SSD

I have a very bloated SSD.

All it stores are Apps and the System files yet its using 31GB?!?!

I downloaded Daisy Disk and it tells me that in my Library > Application Support > Mobile Sync .. i have backups of 11.3GB ..

What the hell is this and can i get rid of it?

I believe that folder is for iPhone backups. You can delete them if you backup using iCloud.

11GB of iPhone Backups?! Are you sure?

I don't want to delete and **** it up.

I only have 3 backups showing in my iTunes ..

my iPhone, the mrs, and the iPad .. surely those 3 don't equate to 11GB!

Yes we both backup to iCloud .. but i periodically do plug them in and hit backup too ..
