I'm trying to change my Root SSH password but Mobile Terminal keep closing when I run it.
I've uninstalled, reinstalled, rebooted but it still has the same issue.
Anyone have/had this issue and know how to resolve it?

EDIT: I'm on an iPhone 4 if that makes any difference.

That worked.
Just make sure you delete the original terminal before installing the new one for iOS 4

Thanks!

yup, I did the same deleting the original terminal, and my new os4 terminal doesnt work. I was just changing the password... su root / alpine, etc... and doesnt like alpine or any type nothing. weird.. and maybe I need to delete sbsettings all stuck showing old terminal in there once I deleted it and didnt think about the dock for it.

nevermind... deleting and installing sbsetting and terminal still doesnt work. =/

If you get the .deb file, yes SSH it in, either to autoinstall or tmp with an install command.

I would remove the other version first.

where would i find the folder from SFTP. Im looking through it, but I cant find it. Its been a while since in SSH since my 3GS about a year or more.

I'm still stuck on this... I've downloaded sauriks terminal his Twitter but I can't figure installing it on SSH. :/

There is a never version in Cydia

If you don't see it there, get the .deb file from Saurik's tweets hack

(the 426 version was an unstable hack as you are finding out)

Glad someone asked about this, because I tried to find Saurik's version, but no one ever answered where it was. Got it now, although I never had problems with 426.

There is an automatic mechanism in place. Create this directory path on your iPhone:

/var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstall

Note that "/var/root/Media/" already exists.

Then copy any debs you want to install into the "AutoInstall" dir and reboot the phone. The deb will be installed automatically.

Also, you can do this:

dpkg -i /path/to/deb/file.deb
