Hi,

(insert usual caveats about how I searched for topic and couldn't find it so please don't shout me down for starting a thread etc...)

I am wondering if anyone has a solution for the problem with MobileMe email aliases where they just don't work? Or is there any information recently on why they don't work or if they are going to be fixed.

I have signed up for two different services in the last week, and both times I used the "mac.com" form of the email alias address instead of the "me.com" form. Apple has said that the me.com and mac.com parts are interchangeable, but email addressed to a mac.com variant of your *actual* me.com email alias simply don't work. This leaves me in limbo for two expensive services because my confirmation email has never arrived.

Does anyone know if these emails will eventually arrive (aliases are 'broken" but being fixed), or if they are lost forever due to bad addresses (email aliases will never be "fixed" because they aren't broken)?

In other words is this one of those things where Apple thinks it's in the right and won't be changing anything because it has some fancy explanation about how my expectations of interoperability are wrong? Or is it just temporarily broken?
