I have been hearing rumors that MobileMe may becoming a free service for over a year. My renewal is due in less than a week and I just looked at my system preference folder and the renewal notice has disappeared. It looks like iCloud may have perfect timing. With OS10.7 priced at $30, it's getting much easier to keep up to date. Anyone else check their renewal date?

Listen to (or read) the keynote at WWDC. "MobileMe used to cost $99 annually. "As of today this product ceases to exist.""

MobileMe accessible until June 30th 2012

My free trial ended and I was billed in May for my first full year.
The most important feature I use is "Find my iPhone/iPad".
Wonder how that is going to be handled in iOS5?

If you go into your Mobile Me account page, it'll tell you your account has been extended to Jun 30, 2012, and there's a link to an apple support page explaining the migration.

Interestingly, there's no mention yet of being able to extend the iCloud storage beyond the free 5GB, but wouldn't be surprised if that is announced later, just like Mobile Me storage upgrade options.
