MobileMe /Find my iPhone Question

I have a SIM lock, passcode and "Find My Phone" enabled. Can a thief simply reformat /reinstall the OS or jailbreak the device without the passcode?

Just signed up for the free 60-day trial and I am impressed with this feature and also the automatic syncing capabilities.

P.S. Anyway of syncing both the SIM and passcode so that you just need to enter one code when powering up your phone?

If you lose your Iphone or a thief steals it all that person has to do is turn the phone off and Find My Iphone will not work. Then all they have to do is restore it and it will basically be an Ipod or a new iphone if they have their own sim card.

It's a great feature that will come in handy if you lose your phone and are concerned more about protecting your data than getting your phone back. The remote wipe feature is great and allows you to keep your information from getting into the wrong hands (which it's probably already in).
