So I'm (legitimately) running iOS 5 on both my iPad and iPhone, and when I go into the iCloud settings or any of the options, it always wants to know what iCloud account I want to sign in as, my MobileMe account name or my Gmail account name. Is there a proper way to do this? As in, it seems like my iCloud should be my MobileMe login, but the email address that's attached to my iTunes account is actually my gmail. Which way should I have this set?

I think iCloud would be your MobileMe account and you would put your GMail account under Settings->Store. I'm not running the beta, so I'm speculating. Let us know if that works out.

Well since you are (legitimately) running iOS 5 you should know that you have to run OSX Lion and sign up for iCloud first after you download some other stuff.
When you did all this your Apple ID that corresponds with your ADC ID will let you do the upgrade to iCloud.
Without that there is no dice, sorry.
