First of all, my MobileMe email has worked great on iPhone 4 and iPad for months. Both are on 4.2.1 and it's been fine.
At night, i put my iPhone into Airplane mode and the iPad stays on, albeit on silent. So usually what happens is when I check the iPad in the morning, there's emails waiting that have came in overnight, and obviously as soon as I take my iPhone out of Airplane mode, they buzz through there too.
Lately I've noticed no emails at all on the iPad in the morning, yet when I take the iPhone out of Airplane mode, emails come through, with times indicating they were received during the night.
If I manually enter Mail on the iPad, they come through.
I tried deleting the MobileMe account on the iPad and re-adding it, no luck.
I did some further testing, i.e. I took both devices to work and noticed that emails were coming through to the iPhone all day, but not to the iPad. They only came to iPad if I manually check for email.
I tried a soft reset, and that fixed it - push emails started coming through again. However next morning, same problem. A soft reset again fixed it, but next morning, same problem.
I've changed no settings/software, etc (since it's been working great for months I had no reason to anyway). I checked all the settings anyway, just in case, and they're identical on both devices.
Any ideas?
Thanks
