Hi there. I too am having sync issues, although I think mine are a bit different. I will try and spell it out and see if we can come to a solution together.
What I'm working with:
iPhone 3G (i3G)
MobileMe account (MM)
MacBook Pro (MBP)
I had recently unregistered my MBP from MM and at the prompt told it to delete EVERYTING off the MM server that was no longer being used. I then formatted my MBP and reinstalled Leopard. I ran software update and have installed successfully EVERY update available (including the MM 1.1 update). I set up sync in MM by registering my computer, checking off EVERY sync option (bookmarks, preferences, etc) and hit the "reset sync data" option and told it to replace all info on MM with info from the MBP... I did that to essentially "reset" the MM cloud with the newly formatted MBP information. It's the only way I know to essentially "reset" the MM cloud to as close to "new" condition as possible.
I then chose the "erase and rest all settings" on the iPhone (which took a bit over 1 hour to do), plugged the iPholne into iTunes and set up the iPhone.
I then added some new appointments to iCal, changed my contact info in Address Book (so there would be two contacts total... mine, and Apple Inc), and added some bookmarks in Safari.
I turned on the MM "push" feature on the iPhone. I then synced my iPhone in iTunes and low and behold.... OLD information showed up on my iPhone from the previous format! I.E. there were appointments and contacts that were not on my current MBP but were on the MBP PRIOR to the format.
How could that be? I had deleted unused information from MM before the format, and I had reset the sync data with the new format.
Now my iPhone has bookmarks from my old format and my new MBP, it has only the old appointments (the new ones on my MBP don't show up on my iPhone), and my contacts has three contacts instead of the two which show up on my MBP.
ANY ideas/thoughts/work-arounds?
Thanks,
Keith
