My mom lost her iPhone 3G about 7 months ago and she just recently got an iPhone 4. I always loved that with MobileMe you can track your iPhone quite well as well as erase it and so on. She was furious that she could do nothing except call it and hope someone picks up.
I ended up setting up my MobileMe account on her phone as well as my fiances with all settings off except Find My iPhone and so now when I log into me.com I can track all 3 phones. They can always go into the settings and turn on the other features such as mail, etc.. So make sure you trust them first
