Moblie me and gmail : push email.....question

Since google is off trying to do there own phone thing now i doubt we are going to get push gmail.

I have a .mac account and I can forward my gmail to this account.

This would allow push notifications of email in my box.

Is there anyway to make the reply come from the gmail server and my gmail address?

Receive from one account and send from another?
