So were on an investing/stock market section in my economics class. Were doing a mock stock project where the prof gives us "10k" and we need to invest it in a max of 5 stocks. This project is from now until toward the middle of May, so its not long term.

Could anyone suggest a couple solid stocks that i could make some money off of?

If you want to keep track of a stock simulation, a good way to have some fun is to go to wallstreetpros.com.

It may not help you, but it's pretty much the same sort of thing.

i did that last year and bought lots of apple stock!!! :D i can't recommend that at the moment, stock seems to be rising a bit now.
Well this is only for 2 months, so i am not too sure if apple will rise in the next 2 months. It would be nice though. Last year this time it was under $100 :)

You can also make portfolios on Google Finances. You can just make a "fake" or "test" portfolio to the same end I believe.

We're doing this for econ too...

I bought AAPL when it was going for $160 a share... yea, looks like that turned out to be a good investment.
