I'm sure you would probably want to do some sort of wrap. But I was thinking the same thing. I would think that the X would scratch the crap out of the back of the phone.

I think this is awesome, but would I buy one? No way. Seems totally impractical. Cool concept though.

I like it, but definitely too pricey. Looks like all parts of the phone are protected if falling onto a flat surface (although I don't really know how well it would handle a drop). This is assuming the front is a lay on table design, I didn't look hard enough to verify if it is or not.

I think they should have offered a black version though.

It does look cool. However I don't think it will be comfortable to hold with the two flat bars sticking out in the back.

I contacted the creators on their website and inquired about the X brace potentially scratching up the phone. Here is what they said:

The X frame does not directly come in contact with the back plate of the iPhone, you are correct it float above it. In the center of the X we probably will place a small rubber nub to prevent direct contact if it’s pressured downward, we didn’t think we need it but now we are considering it as we do some more minor improvements.

I like the fact that they are addressing it. They did also note that the X brace will come in a slate color in order to match with the black IP5.

Actually, yes.
It is an interesting design indeed. Not sure if I hate it myself.
