Dear Mod. What's the logic in closing a thread in this forum and directing to an existing thread in the iPhone forum? Many here do not have an iPhone and I for one have never even been to the iPhone forum.

Might as well close half the threads here then, no?

Just wondering?

Mike

*Note: Thread moved from iPod touch forum to Site and Forum Feedback forum.

When there is an existing discussion on a topic, particularly as part of a news story linked on the front page of the site, it's desirable to consolidate discussion in a single location. It gets everyone involved in the same discussion rather than fragmenting the discussion, repeating things, and cluttering the forums.

If there are two threads at the exact same time going on it clearly produces duplicated discussions which is bad for countless countless reasons, so many that I cannot count, foremost that questions are asked in one forum that were already answered in the other(s).

The iPod touch and the iPhone are basically the same thing...

I can see where the OP could make arguments as to why their might be differing. I mean people that have the iPod Touch might prefer different car chargers or headphones because they do not need the voice features. Might I ask what the thread was about?

Good point, I hadn't thought of that.

Looking at the OP's threads a stab in the dark it will be the one about the HP calculator applications that also made it to the iPhone front page.
