I know not much information is out yet...but was anyone able to discern if the 42 mm case will be compatible with the brown "modern buckle" band?

My understanding is that all bands are made for both the 38mm and the 42mm casings.

The third party market will also play a large role in available customization of straps/bands.

This. I can't wait for a Burberry strap on my Apple Watch!

Have any of the big names in tech journalism (MR, 9to5, TUAW, etc) confirmed this?

This is what I'd like to know too, because looking on the Apple site it seems like the Modern Buckle is only available in 38mm variant. Not that I really mind, because I feel the 38mm is much more subtle.

"Of course, we knew one size wouldn't fit everyone, so we also developed a smaller watch with matching smaller straps."

So we should infer that since the modern buckle strap is shown on a 38 mm version that it would also be available on the 42 mm version? I mean it seems self explanatory...
