Modern Combat 3 iPhone and Android multiplayer problem! Please Help!!

Hi. I bought Modern Combat 3 Fallen Nation for my iPhone 4 and for my brothers Android Samsung Galaxy Vibrant and we're trying to play multiplayer, but we can't. It seems like we have two different versions of the game.

When he sends me an invite to a game, it tells me "Player wants to play Modern Combat 3 - Update 1 HD+ Android with you" and I can't play because it says it's the HD version and there is no HD version for the iPhone or even iPad that I see.

What can I do to get this to work?

I contacted them and they said they don't believe it is. But I'm wondering because I've seen on other websites that it is cross platform. Is there ANY way to play cross platform with this game?

If the developers said it isn't, there's a good chance they're right.
