Modify bumper to fit all earphone jacks?

Does anyone know if its possible to modify the bumper so that all normal earphones can fit into the jack? Currently only some fit while others won't quite reach the jack.

How could i do this?

drill bit of appropriate size and a steady hand.

put bumper in vice (line vice with something soft)...pick a drill bit to the appropriate size you need to enlarge the hole (make sure its a nice and sharp bit). Start off at a low speed and ream out the hole.

For my auxiliary cable in car I just cut a piece of the plastic and fits perfect. I have skullcandy earphones and they fit without modifying.
