I'm not sure if this is the correct sub-forum for this question, so please move it if it is inappropriate.

I was using Mavericks for a while before upgrading to Sierra a few months ago, and one thing I enjoyed about Mavericks and earlier versions was that I could select the text in the dictionary pop-up for copying purposes. For example, on a web page in my browser, I could three-finger tap a word to get the definition, read it, then select, copy, and paste part of the definition into other sources. I used this frequently in a workflow to improve my English vocabulary.

However, now on Sierra, the ability to select text in the dictionary pop-up has been inexplicably removed. I googled for a while to see if anyone else was bothered by this, but I couldn't find many relevant results. Here (http://gurusinc.com/mac-dictionary-select.shtml) is a way to make the text in the Dictionary widget selectable, but it doesn't make the pop-up text selectable — and using the widget to check definitions isn't as convenient as the pop-up. And this page (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3736067?tstart=0) discusses how to change the font in the pop-up, but I can't find the Dictionary because it's no longer located in "/Library/Dictionaries/". The only "dictionary" I can find is the Widget dictionary, as specified in the first link I posted above.

Does anyone know where the dictionary files are stored so I can modify them and make the text selectable? Thank you in advance.

Long-awaited bump! I have some free time and interest to pick up this project again and am wondering if any new eyes out there have any suggestions for me. Thank you.
