There is the Mac Programming sub-forum. Isn't that sufficient enough?

Sorry, dont think i was that clear in what i ment... damn beer!

A forum like there is for iphone/ipad apps also for general questions.

In the 1st page of Mac Applications forum there are 16 threads dedicated to Safari 5 questions/extensions and after doing a search, there is approx 50-70 threads started on Safari 5 since its launch 2 days back.

That's because the application has just been released. It will die down eventually, just like with that iPad and those ix MBPs.

I don’t see much more that 5 does than 4 to warrant a sub-forum for general questions. Basically, it’s faster, has Bing, and has a reader.

Extensions have the potential to be a big discussion topic, so that's worth considering.

We certainly appreciate the feedback and will keep an eye on things to see how it develops, but we won't be adding a Safari 5 forum just yet. We're very judicious in adding new forums in order to keep the main forum page from getting out of control and overwhelming new members, so we'll need a bit more history before we make any decisions about this one.

I have a feeling we'll be just fine with the Mac Applications forum for users and possibly Mac Programming for extension developers, but we'll see how it plays out.
