My 2015 iMac has 8 GB and cannot be upgraded. Mojave runs with frequent pauses and beach balls. I've tried all the solutions I found on forums but to no avail. Is it that Mojave will NOT RUN ON N 8 GB iMac? Is here a solution?

Frustrated user.

I’m running Mojave 10.14.1 fairly successfully on a Late 2014 Mac Mini with hard wired 8GB. But I have to watch which apps are open/active and monitor the “memory pressure” via Activity Monitor. In my case the biggest memory culprits are Google Earth (with a large MyPlaces). iMovie and sometimes Photos.

FWIW when I was running 10.14.2, my Mac Mini was beach-balling a lot and for no apparent reason. 10.4.2 was not using Swap and the memory pressure graph was frequently yellow and sometimes red. After I dropped back to 10.14.1, Swap Used is typically 200-800 MB, the Memory Pressure graph is usually green and the beach balls occur for more obvious reasons: app launch, a spinner external drive waking up, etc..
